Dlangezwa Hellenic FC will want to draw a quick line under a chastening Saturday afternoon, falling 4-0 at the hands of league
leaders Njampela FC in a result that underlined the gulf between Stream A’s pacesetters and the chasing pack.
A day to forget
There is no kind way to dress up a four-goal defeat, and Hellenic will know it. Njampela, top of the standings and looking every
inch the team of the season in KZN Stream A, played with the confidence of a side that has spent most of the year looking down at
the rest of the league. Hellenic, by contrast, were made to chase shadows for long passages on 2 May, never quite finding the
foothold they needed to make this a contest.
The scoreline tells its own story: a mid-table side ran into a team operating at a different tempo, and the gap showed from first
whistle to last.

The result leaves little ambiguity about where each side stands. Njampela continue to march at the top of KZN Stream A on 38
points from a 12-2-2 record, looking every inch the team to beat in the promotion conversation. Hellenic remain in 6th on 16
points (4-4-8) — mid-table, safely clear of trouble, but a long way short of the level the leaders are setting.
For Hellenic, the wider context matters. Stream A has been Njampela’s league for most of the year, and dropping a heavy result
against the runaway favourites is not, in isolation, a season-defining moment. The bigger questions are about how the squad
responds in the games that follow — the matches against direct rivals in the middle of the table, where Hellenic’s season
actually gets shaped.
Where Hellenic go from here
A 4-0 reverse stings, but it is one match against opposition operating at the top of the division. The priority now is a clean
reset: tighten up defensively, get bodies back into shape, and refocus on the fixtures where points are realistically there to be
won.
Hellenic have shown across the season that they can be hard to break down on their day — four wins and four draws don’t happen by
accident in this league. The challenge for the coaching staff in the coming days is making sure the heaviness of the 2 May
result doesn’t carry into the next outing.
